I've no idea how I came up with this one. I was unable to sleep on my way to Chicago and for some reason I just got into a very Back To The Future mood. So here's a very white-boy rap love song.
----
[a]
Sometimes I wonder what happened to "us?"
Now before you furrow your brow,
nose scrunched in disgust,
it's a problem y'see?
It's a matter of fact.
But without Doc Brown I don't know how to act.
A capacity for flux, or a delorean would do,
to replace the time I lost before meeting you.
It was a day in January, 4:13 to be precise.
And after a month of gifting for the naughty and the nice
I found myself wanting a time control device.
[b]
Two hands on the watch
two hands on your hips
I feel like Marty McFly
kissing your lips
Time stands still
The moment drifts into the past
We're not promised the future
So make this feeling last.
[a]
I want a simple time machine, any variety
to catch a re-run of our serendipity
my heart was cravin' candy, and you tasted like sweet-tarts
the way you lit me up gave me pinball machine parts.
I was slippin' on my words like an icy hill in rain
But you understood my sentiment negating all my pain
It doesn't take a scientist to see my love is real
you grabbed my hand like lightning,
shocking all I feel
[b]
Two hands on the watch
two hands on your hips
I feel like Marty McFly
kissing your lips
Time stands still
The moment drifts into the past
We're not promised the future
So make this feeling last.
[c]
Whoa this is heavy, but I like what I see
you got me working hard, busy as a bee.
(two hands on the watch)
Whoa this is heavy but I like what I see
(two hands on your hips)
you got me working hard, busy as a bee.
I feel like Marty McFly
kissing your lips.
Time stands still,
the moment drifts into the past.
We're not promised the future,
so make this feeling last.
We're not promised the future,
so make this feeling last.

I'm There - 1/23/10
Ever have something you want to say, but can't make out the words? Well, that's what this is all about. I think that's about all I need to say. It wasn't written for any project or any show, it's just something selfish, for me right now. It's written as a patter song, lighthearted but a little awkward, which pretty much sums me up.
[f]
As long as I've known you, I've been there
[a]
You can't find it on a map but I've seen it more than twice
Maybe thrice? What I'm trying to say is, it's been nice.
Some advice? What to say, though you're never in my way
You're the forefront of my thoughts and in my head.
Though I can't quite decide, do I say it or override
to retreat back to vague references instead?
[b]
I'm there, I'm there, don't you see me standing bare
Why can't you read my thoughts? I'm right there.
I'm there, I'm there, though I'm not standing right beside you.
It's a metaphor, or is it analogy? I'm there.
[a]
Don't you get it? Can't you see? Y'know, I've really got to pee.
This doesn't help the situation, thought you should know.
Please don't leave, don't pass by, I can do this if I try.
There's always been one place I'm always scared to go
[b]
but I'm there, I'm there. Just something I ought to share.
If it were currency, you'd be my millionaire.
I'm there! I'm there! I thought you'd understand by now,
You make me feel like dancing tap like Fred Astaire.
[c]
Don't you remember the hour we spent lying awake together
I told you then.
I haven't been to this place with anyone since I can't remember when.
If the journey brought me here then you're my destination.
I just needed you to help me out with the navigation.
[b]
So I'm there, I'm there. I can even feel it in my hair!
And a little bit even in my underwear...
I'm not scared. Not scared! I love you, that's a promise
[f]
Even though I'm always moving I've always been there.
